Universal College of Learning
I assisted in content management and web planning work for the new UCOL public website that was rolled out in late 2007. The appearance shown here, designed by Ogilvy New Zealand and implemented in-house with his assistance, is derived from the mockup design that I developed in co-operation with the Recruitment and Relations department. The online programmes subsite developed later was based on a very similar design.
During my contracts at UCOL, I was responsible for working in co-operation with Recruitment and Relations and the UCOL webmaster in managing content and improving the accuracy, usability, and search engine visibility for both the public website and its content management system, implemented using Microsoft technologies. This frequently involved editing source XHTML when the content editor included in the CMS proved inadequate. Over late 2007 and 2008 I was periodically rehired by UCOL for continued work of this kind.
